No launch today - 1 September 2021

We had high hopes that Equinox would be relaunched today, but it did not happen. Its probably a good thing as it took ages in the hot sun to remove the deck cover, and if we had tried to do this under time pressure, it would not have been easy. Anyone this is now all done and the batteries are charging and the fridge is on. We have a slot booked for the launch tomorrow.

A sister ship from the same manufacturer has now arrived and been placed next to us. It is reassuring to know that it is still deep enough for us to get out.

Part of the delay is tied to out request to have all of the fuel on board filtered. Diesel in continental Europe contains a higher proportion of bio material than in the UK, and this allows the growth of a bacteria, commonly known as diesel bug. This in turn, can set into a rubber like consistency, which blocks all of the fuel lines, and stops the engine from working.  We are keen to avoid this so we have asked the marina to take out all the fuel and filter it before putting it back in. Not an easy task when there is about 400 litres of fuel on board, you typically leave the fuel tanks full to stop condensation which leaves water in the fuel, also not ideal.
